This is not a live clinical application. Do not enter, dictate, paste or upload real patient records, identifying information, names, addresses, actual call numbers, or actual clinical details. This preview does not log users in, save records, email or text reviewers, or securely de-identify records. The privacy warning system is an incomplete demonstration, not a protection you can rely on. An actual medical record number is a patient identifier and must NOT be used here. A privacy alert stops automated extraction until the student reviews and removes flagged material.
New EMT patient contact
NCC form: 102/102 original controlsThis browser preview preserves every NCC source field. Our goal is for a student to dictate a complete encounter naturally, in any order, and then make only essential corrections or approvals with minimal screen interaction. Current extraction is still a limited rules-based demonstration.
Workflow shown for planning: students first check and correct all draft fields, then submit to a preceptor. The preceptor can return the report for changes before approving it for program QA. Program QA can also return it for corrections. Actual accounts, submission, review routing, notifications, electronic approvals and dashboards are not built yet.
1. Practice dictation
Dictate using your phone or tablet keyboard microphone. On Windows, use Win + H after clicking the box. The sequence of items does not matter for the limited demonstration below.
Clarification needed — NCC call times
The program has not entered any uncertain call times. Review the question(s), correct the fictional transcript above with the meaning of the time, then select Interpret practice dictation again. The four original NCC time fields are the only destinations for call times.
These are exact words that the simple pattern checker flagged in this browser. They may be a false alarm. Do not use real patient details here.
Review suggested removal of patient identifiers
The text below contains visible [REDACTED: ...] placeholders and is an editable proposed redaction, not certified de-identification. Check that no identifying details remain and that clinically relevant facts are still accurate. Nothing is submitted or saved by this preview.
This preview can miss indirect identifiers. Do not enter actual patient information for testing.
2. Dictation-first design: what we are building
Students should be able to speak a full clinical account from start to finish without filling in dozens of boxes. After dictation, the system will extract what is supported, flag uncertainty, ask only necessary questions, and present an editable NCC report for confirmation. Touch or keyboard use should be limited mainly to corrections, approval and submission.
Cristian's guidance: The NCC sheet is a clinical guide, not a requirement to complete every assessment, perform every skill, or type something into every line. An appropriate blank is not an automatic failure. The app should offer reminders or a truthful Unable to Obtain explanation for nonessential information.
Optional narrative organizers: CHART · SOAP · DACHART. These are guides, not rigid dictated sequences; the student's chosen style must not be used to infer undocumented findings.
3. Review the NCC form
All 102 original NCC controls appear below, in the same section sequence as the NCC form. No extra AVPU or transport timing controls have been added. The original NCC Mental Status / AVPU - Finding field contains only one letter: A, V, P or U. Associated details such as alert and oriented x4 and a history of loss of consciousness are kept in the existing NCC notes and narrative. Only the four original NCC call times are extracted: Dispatch, En Route (responding to the scene), On Scene and Destination (arrival at destination). Any hospital-bound en-route or departure time is ignored; it is not placed in En Route or copied into Notes. When a time cannot be classified confidently or the sequence conflicts, the program asks the student to correct or clarify the dictation before filling uncertain time fields. No extra NCC controls are added. Every automatically populated field or checked skill is a suggestion that the student must verify.

4. Student completion review — practice only
The student should have a chance to correct the dictated report before it reaches the preceptor. Only a small number of items should prevent submission. Other blank fields should prompt a reminder, not demand an invented finding.
When information genuinely cannot be obtained, students can document that fact rather than guessing. These temporary training-only statuses are workflow notes outside Eric's original NCC controls; they do not substitute for an applicable clinical assessment.
Never choose Unable to Obtain merely to make a warning disappear. For example, if a stroke screen was not indicated, leave its NCC checkbox unselected; do not invent a negative result.
5. Next workflow features
The live system will require an editable student review of every NCC field BEFORE submission, signed-in student and preceptor accounts, preceptor correction requests and student resubmission before QA, then program QA approval, and read-only reporting access for Eric and April. Preceptor availability and shift scheduling are planned for a later phase.
No Submit button is available in this preview because it has no authenticated backend, protected database, reliable PII handling or approval routing.
